How do I choose a reputable Flood Company?
There are a lot of companies out there for a homeowner to choose from. How do you determine if the company is right for you? Here are some important things to consider.
- Certifications - The Federal Government does not regulate the cleaning of flood water in your home. It is up to the insurance company to set a standard. The insurance industry has picked the IICRC to be the standard for flood cleanup. A flood Company should have Certification from the IICRC in order to work with most insurance companies.
- Experience - With a new flood company entering the market every month it is important to look at experience. Large call volume and a large fleet shows stability and growth in the company. If the flood company cannot return your call within 1 hour, be on site in 4 hours, and updating an adjuster in 8 hours, then they may not have enough experience.
